A church stands square on the page, a cross on the steeple, tall arched windows down each wall, broad stone steps at the front and two grinning bats circling above with a carved pumpkin at the foot of the stairs. Architecture is a different job from characters: the lines are all straight or evenly curved, so there is nothing to get wrong, and the whole Halloween drawing comes down to whether the stone is one flat grey or several. Vary it panel by panel and the building has weight. Seven upwards, around twenty minutes. The other building on the hill is Haunted Halloween House.
Coloring ideas for this page
